Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter is pleased to announce its annual UOO college scholarship awards. Applicants must be a high school senior planning to enter a four year accredited college/university in the fall of 2026. Applicants must be attending a public high school in Lexington County or Richland/Lexington School District Five.

Requirements:

  • Scholarship Application (complete with all requested information)
  • Cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation 
  • Attend school in Lexington County or Richland/Lexington School District Five
  • Provide acceptance into a four year accredited college or university

DeadlineApplications accepted February 16, 2026 – March 27, 2026
All applications must be postmarked by 
March 27, 2026.

2026 Tera Davis-Adams Memorial Scholarship

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter is pleased to announce its 2026 Tera Davis-Adams Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be a high school senior planning to enter a four year accredited historically black college or university in the fall of 2026. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior in Lexington or Richland County School Districts.

Requirements: 

  • Scholarship Application (complete with all requested information)
  • Cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation
  • Graduating Senior in Lexington or Richland County School Districts
  • Provide acceptance into a four year accredited HBCU

2026 Watson Dream Catcher Scholarship

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter is pleased to announce its 2026 Watson Dream Catcher Scholarship. This scholarship is dedicated to supporting and empowering African American students who aspire to break barriers in careers, service, and/or sports where African Americans are underrepresented. It is sponsored by UOO Charter Member Robyn Davis Watson. 

Requirements: 

  • African American high school senior or undergraduate student
  • Attend or attended a school in Richland School District 2 or Lexington/Richland School District Five
  • Pursuing a major sport or career in an underrepresented field for African Americans
  • Exhibits leadership, perseverance, and a dedication to achieving their dreams 
  • Cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale

2026 Modjeska Monteith Simkins Legacy Scholarship

Optus Bank & Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter is pleased to announce its inaugural Modjeska Monteith Simkins Legacy Scholarship. Applicants must be a high school senior planning to enter a four-year college/university in the Fall of 2026. Applicants must attend a public high school in Richland School District One or Richland School District Two. 

Requirements: 

  • Scholarship Application (complete with all requested information)
  • Cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Graduating High School Senior in Richland School District One or Richland School District Two
  • Provide acceptance into a four year accredited college or university

2026 Michelle Alston Memorial Scholarship

The Michelle Alston Memorial Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to major in the Arts at an accredited Historically Black College/University. It seeks to support students who demonstrate artistic talent, dedication to their craft, and a commitment to using their gifts to positively impact their communities. Through this scholarship, Michelle’s legacy continues encouraging young artists to pursue their dreams, honor their creativity, and carry forward a love for the arts that transcends generations.

Requirements: 

  • Scholarship Application (complete with all requested information)
  • Cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Graduating High School Senior in Richland School District One or Two or Lexington/Richland School District Five
  • Majoring in Arts-Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Creative Writing or Drama
  • Provide acceptance letter into a four year HBCU  
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation 
  • Demonstrate talent or commitment to the Arts
