Greetings,

As president of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® – Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website!

We are excited to celebrate 20 years of service to the Irmo-Lexington County area this year. We plan to participate in at least 20 acts of service this year to commemorate this grand occasion. Over the years, the chapter has demonstrated its commitment to impacting lives through various community programs including the facilitation of youth enrichment programs such as ASCEND SM and Girls of Promise/Boys of Purpose, providing backpacks and school supplies for students, distributing meals and seasonal wraps to families and people in need, and renewing a playground of local schools. We recently received a grant from USDA to create and share a community garden with the Lexington Community.

In addition to these services, Upsilon Omega Omega’s signature event Emeralds of Excellence Debutante / Scholarship Cotillion Program, chapter scholarships, and special scholarships have afforded us the opportunity to award over $240,000 in scholarships to college bound young women and men. Alpha Kappa Alpha’s international program target areas are implemented locally through our innovative programs and service projects that will continue to address the needs of our community.

Our chapter body is comprised of a very diverse and distinguished group of women who offer their talents and resources to empower and educate our community. If you are an inactive member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, a recent graduate or general member seeking to affiliate with a graduate chapter, we encourage you to consider joining us as we continue our commitment to the improvement of our community and to being of service to all mankind.
Please continue to visit our website to remain current on our service projects, chapter activities, and other community events.

Yours in Service,

Dr. Deanna S. Taylor
President
